Before a record-breaking crowd of about 1,500 spectators, Paducah, first half champions, took a double header from Owensboro at Owensboro, 8-6, 7-5.

The Pirates outhit the Invaders 14 to 7 in the curtain raiser, but Paducah took advantage of four errors coupled with seven bases on balls to win.

In the second game Woods allowed Owensboro only eight scattered hits.
