Mayfield Outslugs Owensboro, 11-10

Mayfield defeated Owensboro here this afternoon 11 to 10 in another hectic game which saw two former Mayfield players almost turn the tide in favor of the visitors. Les Sweetland, former Clothier manager was on the hill for Owensboro and but for miserable support would have been returned the winner. “Red” Johnson, former Clothier second sacker made his bid in the sixth when he hit a homer over the left field fence with three mates on base.

Mayfield scored seven times in the fourth on four hits and four errors. They won out in the ninth when with one out and the bases empty, Neisler Mayfield catcher hit a home run to break the tie. Kurowski, Mayfield shortstop, and Gregory and Raspberry for the visitors also hit homers.
