The Owensboro Pirates won the first of a three-game series with the Hopkinsville Hoppers by 4 to 2 here this afternoon.
George Gregory’s homer after Johnson singled in the first gave the Bucs two runs and they scored what proved to be the winning run in the fourth on successive singles by Raspberry and Wilson. Knickmeyer, visiting hurler, and Durheim twirled beautiful ball.
